Ethan Shin (Cellist)

Ethan Shin is a California High School alumni. He has been playing cello for eight years and is in his third year in Oakland Youth Orchestra. Currently, Ethan is studying cello under Jehah Han. He was the principal cellist in Chamber Orchestra at California High School in his freshman year. In the summer of 2019, he went on tour to China with Oakland Youth Orchestra. He got to play in the Shanghai Oriental Art Center, Bejing National Library Concert Hall, and Xi’an Concert Hall. In his freshman year, he won second place in the 2020 U.S. International Music Competition. He also won 3rd place in the 2020 Great Composers Competition – Best Schumann Performance. Ethan also won first place in the 2020 Silicon Valley Philharmonic Music Competition. In his free time, he likes to read comics and talk with his friends.
