Grace Yang (Cellist)

Member from 2020 - 2023

Grace Yang is a Dougherty Valley High School alumni and has played cello for eight years. Music has been a major aspect of her life ever since she started playing the piano when she was four, and she loves to share her passion for music with her community. In middle school, she organized a string quartet called Origins Strings with her friends and performed at various community events such as the Dublin New Year's Celebration and the Christmas event at GE, as well as at different public libraries and senior centers. Grace also enjoys the harmony of orchestra music and has participated in different orchestras for the last six years. She was invited to the California All-State Orchestra for the past four years and now plays with the Oakland Symphony Youth Orchestra as the principal cellist. Last year, she started competing in music competitions and won 3rd place in the 2020 KAMSA Young Artist Competition. Grace has been a huge fan of Disney movies for as long as she can remember, and she is excited to spread the wonders of music through storytelling as a part of Symphonics.
